Meet Yudong

Yudong Wang, an accomplished percussionist from China, is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts in Percussion Performance at the College-Conservatory of Music (CCM), University of Cincinnati. A recipient of the Graduate Incentive Award (GIA) Scholarship, he presented at the 48th annual Percussive Arts Society International Convention.

 

Yudong's percussion journey began at the Hartt School of Music, University of Hartford, where he graduated summa cum laude and earned Gold and Silver Medals at the PAS-China competition during his undergraduate studies. In the education sector, Yudong has served as a Drum Instructor in the Cincinnati area and held roles such as Percussion Manager at the Cincinnati Youth Symphony Orchestra and Graduate Teaching Assistant at the CCM Percussion Studio. His expertise extends to being a Drum Accompanist at CCM Dance Division and a Percussion Instructor at CCM Youth Ensemble. During his graduate studies at CCM, Yudong collaborated with the Cincinnati Youth Symphony Orchestra, China National Symphony Orchestra, Beijing Wind Orchestra, and China Conservatory of Music Symphony Orchestra. Additionally, he contributed to the China National Symphony Orchestra's "Symphony of The Qiantang River" and theatrical productions at the University of Hartford Department of Theatre.

 

Yudong Wang's percussion journey is marked by dedication, a fusion of cultural influences, and a commitment to advancing percussion artistry in both educational and professional contexts.
